There is little doubt that the triad of Privacy, Security and Trust has become of paramount importance in many areas of information technology and society in general. Legislation such as PIPEDA, and discussions of biometrics and national identity cards, coupled with ever expanding cyber security threats, hacks and malware have served to heighten the awareness of Privacy and Security in society. The concept of Trust, long a more difficult and ephemeral concept to grasp, has taken its place at the centre of peoples' understanding of how they work and play, both on- and off-line.

The growing awareness, coupled with an expanding number of researchers in the area internationally, has led to a great deal of exciting and challenging research and development in the areas of eSecurity, privacy enhancing technologies, trustworthy computing interfaces and technologies, advocacy, and greater understanding of the social and technical aspects of these new electronic phenomena.

Following on from a successful PST workshop in Montréal in 2003, this conference will bring together researchers, practitioners and policy makers in the areas of Privacy, Security and Trust in a unique setting to share ideas, thoughts, and inspirations.
